Philosophy
No single sport explains me. Every one of them was a threshold, and Threshold Theories is my attempt to understand what happens at the edge.
“The limit is not a wall. It is a line you learn to stand on.”
The story
How a question became a project
-
01Where it began
A white uniform at three.
I started taekwondo at three, next to my brother. Years of repetition taught me the first rule I ever learned about limits: they move when you are patient with them.
-
02Every sport, a door
Injury was never the end.
A back injury ended my skating. Shoulder and finger injuries ended parkour. Each time, the body closed one door and the curiosity found another — water, snow, weight, the court, the bike.
-
03Why endurance
The longest threshold I know.
Endurance asks for everything the other disciplines taught me, for hours at a time. Marathon first, then ultra distance: this is the chapter where all of it gets tested.
-
04Why “theories”
Ideas I test on myself.
A theory is something you believe until the evidence says otherwise. I write mine down, train them, race them, and keep only what survives the road.
The principles
Nine disciplines, nine lessons
- 01 Patience over speed From the mats
- 02 Commit to the line From the rink
- 03 Adapt, don’t quit From open ground
- 04 Efficiency before force From the water
- 05 Read the terrain ahead From the mountain
- 06 Build the system beneath From the gym
- 07 Move before it happens From the court
- 08 Capacity is earned in volume From the bike
- 09 Stay at the edge a little longer From the road
The work ahead
What Threshold Theories will do
Train in the open, test every theory against real distance, and bring people along for it.
- Now
Building the endurance base
Training volume, strength and recovery, logged as I go.
- Next
The first marathon
The first long test of the theories, in public.
- Then
Ultra distance
Past the marathon, into distances where pacing becomes philosophy.
- Alongside
Running in community
Running with Sepas Collective and anyone who wants to share the miles.
- Soon
The team
A team and a game built around the challenge. Still in design.
